The French distribution giant, Carrefour, entrusts the automation of its fresh produce warehouse to ULMA Handling Systems
Carrefour, through its subsidiary CSD located in the Alps, has entrusted ULMA Handling Systems to develop a logistics automation project for its warehouse in Alby-sur-Chéran, France.
The project designed by ULMA will allow Carrefour to improve its picking reliability, increase productivity and improve ergonomic working conditions for its operators.
This new project consolidates ULMA Handling Systems' commitment in the large retail and distribution sector, highlighting once again the Logistics Engineering Company’s experience in this sector.
Carrefour's facility is designed to supply supermarkets in the Rhône-Alpes Auverge region of France with fresh fruit and vegetables, meaning the automated warehouse will offer an optimal service to their customers, improving productivity and quality in all its products and services.
The facility will maintain a controlled temperature of 6°C and 8°C and will have 6 entry points, an automated warehouse composed of two Unit Load stacker cranes and five automated tray storage systems (FSS). The warehouse will also have automatic and semi-automatic palletising and de-palletising stations. This system allows the handling of product boxes made of plastic, cardboard and wood.
